BY SUBJECT
Directly relevant to clinical microbiology bench work — and required at virtually every NAACLS-accredited MLS program. Counts toward your 16 biology credits under ASCP Route 2.
Microbiology is the only science course where the prerequisite material overlaps directly with the clinical rotation. Students who have completed Microbiology before entering their MLS program understand culture methods, Gram staining, and susceptibility testing conceptually before touching a plate. It also counts as 4 of your 16 required biology credits under ASCP Route 2.
