General Chemistry I & II are required at every NAACLS-accredited MLS program and form the first 8 of your 16 chemistry credits under the ASCP Route 2 rule. Clinical chemistry — the largest section of the ASCP BOC exam — directly tests the principles of acid-base balance, equilibrium, and spectrophotometry taught in this sequence.
