The LA GATOR Scholarship Program is Louisiana's education savings account program, run by the Louisiana Department of Education and administered through the Odyssey platform. It replaced the Louisiana Scholarship Program and gives families funds to direct toward approved education expenses, including online learning, with a dedicated home-based education pathway.
Standard award for eligible students in 2025-26, with $7,626 for qualifying lower-income families and up to $15,253 for students with qualifying disabilities. 2026-27 amounts are set by the state.
Funds are deposited to family accounts in quarterly installments through the Odyssey platform, so you can plan course enrollments across the year.
The annual application and renewal window runs through the Odyssey portal each spring. Current participants must renew during the window to keep their award.

Yes. Our courses are open to motivated high school aged students, and teens across the country use them to get ahead. Every course is a real Upper Iowa University course, and the credit appears on an official UIU transcript.
UIU is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, which is the accreditation most colleges look for when evaluating transfer credit. LA GATOR has its own home-based education pathway inside the program, which is separate from Louisiana's traditional homeschool registrations. Under current rules, families cannot participate in LA GATOR and one of the state's registered homeschool statuses at the same time.
