CODA sets accreditation standards for dental hygiene programs — it does not set prerequisite acceptance policies for individual courses. Each CODA program sets its own policies, and most require that prerequisite coursework come from regionally accredited institutions (HLC, SACSCOC, MSCHE, etc.). This is the same standard as traditional universities and community colleges. National/ACE accreditation — which StraighterLine holds — is a different credential that most professional school admissions offices do not accept.
Don't risk your dental hygiene application on courses that might be rejected. UIU regional accreditation is the standard CODA programs require.
